While you are in Phuket, you should take the opportunity to taste some real southern Thai food such as Gaeng massaman and panaeng, both types of delicious curry. Southern Thai food uses large amount of coconut milk to prepare food. Curries are usually rich in taste and ingredients and also creamier. The cuisine of Phuket is influenced by nearby Malaysia and uses spices such as cumin, cloves, turmeric and aniseed, which is uncommon in most of the foods in Thailand. There is also less consumption of pork as compared to other parts of Thailand.
In Phuket, as many of the locals are descendants of Chinese migrants, the cuisine in Phuket has a strong Chinese influence. In combination with southern Thai food and Muslim food, Chinese cuisine makes a very unique and interesting cuisine.

See the tropical hillsides and sandy beaches

More commonly known as the “Pearl of the Andaman,” Phuket is one of the astonishing destinations in Thailand drawing millions of tourists every year. The island is known for its remarkable beauty and the tropical hillsides in the north, south and west. There are very few islands in the world that boast of it sandy beaches and pristine water.
Phuket was earlier known for tin mines and rubber plantations but in present times, it is famous for its beaches like Patong, Kata and Karon. With an abundance of beaches, parks and forests to explore and rich cultural heritage to discover, Phuket is a wonderful holiday destination.
